It's okay to be afraid. It's okay be scared even when you know you're going in the right direction this time. People are afraid of things they don't know and that's why we are, sometimes, afraid of the future. No one can tell what will happen next. In one moment, you're on top of the world. Twenty four hours later, you could be upside down. But you have to know that you're not searching for perfection in people. It may be that you're afraid to like him/her, to fall for him/her, or to even love him/her. However, that shouldn't stop you from taking a chance at happiness. No one has ever seen you truly happy and for me, I've only seen it once. That one time when you were truly happy, it was because that boy/girl made you smile. But he/she lied to you and that's why you keep turning away from the people you love or have come to like. You shut everything down when you realize you like somebody. You build your walls high, trying to protect yourself.
It's okay. It's high school and it's the time to live. Sometimes girls waste too much time thinking of all the reasons why they shouldn't like a boy, reasons why they would get hurt and all that shit. I get scared too. But every once in a while you need to let your guard down. This goes for guys too. We're always afraid and worried about what's going to happen next that we forget to live in the moment. I don't want to encourage you to do anything you don't feel happy to doing. All I'm advising is to embrace whatever makes you happy. Every person is another story and another chapter to the book of your life.
